Universitas Prima Indonesia President Prof. Chrismis led a delegation to visit Yangtze Normal University in on November 13, 2023, with the active promotion and deep concern of the Chinese Consulate General in Medan. 

Universitas Prima Indonesia President Prof. Chrismis led a delegation to visit Yangtze Normal University in on November 13, 2023, with the active promotion and deep concern of the Chinese Consulate General in Medan. The purpose of this tour is to further the two universities' collaborative plans for the construction of the Confucius Institute. In-depth negotiations were held by Yang Yanbin, President of Yangtze Normal University, Vice President Xiang Xiaochuan, and other leaders. Hu Haibin, Chairman of the Hong Kong Haibin Education Group, was invited to take part in the discussions, during which topics included the creation of the Confucius Institute, the advancement of international education, communication between teachers and students, collaboration in scientific research, and then contributed intercollegiate cooperation agreements.

In a harmonious and amicable setting, the two sides came to a consensus on creating a broad platform for cooperation and communication between the teachers and students of the two universities by using a complementing and advantageous and mutually beneficial cooperation technique. This initiative will not only provide more opportunities for Indonesian students to study in China, and both Chinese students to exchange abroad, but also further foster humanistic exchanges and cooperation between China and Indonesia.

This year, Zhang Min, Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in Medan, has met numerous times with the president and members of the board of directors of Universitas Prima Indonesia. and delivered speeches there to promote the establishment of the Confucius Institute and promote in-depth exchanges between China and Indonesia's education and cultural exchange and cooperation. A significant step toward the establishment of the first Confucius Institutes in Sumatra has been taken with the signing of the intercollegiate collaboration agreement between Yangtze Normal University and Universitas Prima Indonesia. This significant collaboration will compose a new chapter in the educational and cultural interaction between China and Indonesia and inject new vitality into the in-depth development of relations between the two countries.
