Mr.Hu Haibin was invited to attend the 2024 Spring Reception of the Consulate General in Medan

On April 12th, the Consulate General of China in Medan hosted the annual Spring Reception for the consular corps. Consul General Zhang Min, accompanied by his wife and Deputy Consuls Xu Chuanjuan and Li Hongwei, graced the event with their presence. The gathering also saw the attendance of consuls general, deputy consuls, and honorary consuls from 16 countries including Germany, the Netherlands, Japan, Singapore, India, Turkey, Malaysia and East Timor stationed in Medan. Additionally, Mr. Hu Haibin from Hu Haibin Education was invited to attend.

Before the event, Consul General Zhang Min, Xu Chunjuan, and Li Hongwei convened a private meeting with Mr. Hu Haibin to engage in comprehensive discussions on advancing human exchanges between China and Indonesia.  Since assuming office, Consul General Zhang Min has placed significant emphasis on promoting human exchanges between China and Indonesia, proposing a strategic plan to establish 3-4 Confucius Institutes and 6-8 Confucius Classrooms across 10 provinces of Sumatra Island. Mr. Hu Haibin provided a detailed update on the progress of promoting Confucius Institutes and Classrooms in cities such as Medan, Batam Island, North Pontianak, Palembang, and Bengkulu while also presenting his insights on addressing the shortage of Chinese language teachers in each province. During the conference, Consul General Zhang Min commended Mr. Hu Haibin's contributions to promoting human exchanges between China and Indonesia and encouraged him to continue making substantial contributions in this area. 

 

Before the reception, Consul General Zhang focused on the spirit of the National "Two Sessions" and the spirit of the Central Foreign Affairs Work Conference, especially the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind and the "Three Major Initiatives" put forward by President Mr. Xi, singing the bright theory of China's economy and looking forward to the development prospects of China-Indonesia relations. Consul General Zhang actively interacted with the guests, and the atmosphere was warm. Representatives of the consulates of the countries of the South, especially Southeast Asian countries, hope that China will play a greater role in promoting world peace and development and promoting exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations.

During the event, Mr. Hu Haibin engaged in discussions with the Consuls General of Germany, the Netherlands, and East Timor respectively. The topics included issues such as student exchange programs between China and their respective countries, as well as opportunities for Chinese students to study abroad.
