On July 22, 2026, Dr. Hu Haibin, President of the China-Indonesia Culture and Education Exchange Association, led a delegation to formally meet with Professor Yassierli, Minister of Manpower of Indonesia. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on core issues such as the training of vocational and skilled talents in China and Indonesia, the co-establishment of standards, mutual recognition of courses, and interchangeability of certificates, reaching multiple important consensuses on cooperation.

The delegation for this visit was professional and complete in terms of hierarchy. The Chinese participants included the association's honorary advisor, Professor De Gu, Secretary-General Dr. Zhou Shaoyun, and Administrative Coordinator Chen Jiazhen. The Indonesian Ministry of Labor attached great importance to this meeting and assigned leaders from key departments to participate throughout. Attendees included Secretary-General Dr. Cris Kuntadi, Minister's Special Assistant Muhammad Arfian, and Director of the Directorate General of Training and Productivity Development, Darmawansyah.

During the talks, the China-Indonesia Cultural and Educational Exchange Association proposed four systematic and practical deep cooperation plans based on the current status of China-Indonesia industrial cooperation and Indonesia's shortage of high-end skilled workers. The plans were highly recognized and fully supported by Yacirli, Minister of the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower, and other officials present, and were all included in the key cooperation list for both sides moving forward. 

First, build official cooperation platforms and establish professional talent training hubs. Both sides agreed to jointly set up a China-Indonesia Skilled Talent Training Center, creating a career training cooperation platform officially recognized by both countries, integrating schools and enterprises, and aligned with industry needs, laying a foundation for the regular training, exchange, and deployment of China-Indonesia skilled talent.

Second, carry out targeted vocational skills training based on the joint platform. Focusing on the talent demands of Indonesia's key industries such as manufacturing, construction, and services, the China-Indonesia Skilled Talent Training Center will provide localized and standardized vocational skills training to precisely address technical talent gaps in Indonesia's industrial sectors and support the development of the real economy.

Third, build a two-way vocational education standard and assessment system. By integrating advanced Chinese vocational technology standards and mature vocational education curriculum systems with the official Indonesian Ministry of Manpower vocational skill standards, both sides will jointly develop upgraded vocational skill training standards, high-quality curriculum systems, and standardized exam question banks. Trainees who complete the training and pass assessments can receive official dual certification from both China's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and Indonesia's Ministry of Manpower, achieving mutual recognition of skills across both countries.

Fourth, establish an official certification mechanism for Chinese partner schools. For Chinese schools participating in joint China-Indonesia vocational course development and skilled talent training, the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower will issue official certificates recognizing these vocational courses, formally confirming the compliance and applicability of the Chinese curriculum system in Indonesia's vocational training sector, greatly enhancing the authority and recognition of Chinese vocational education abroad.

This high-level meeting was a strategic and in-depth connection between the China-Indonesia Culture and Education Exchange Association and Indonesia's national labor authority, marking a new phase where both sides officially move into a more standardized, systematic, and regular cooperation in areas like jointly building vocational skill standards, training talent together, and mutual recognition of qualifications.
