China-Indonesia Cultural and Educational Exchange Association Makes First Visit to Indonesian University to Discuss Strategic Cooperation on Industry-Education Integration

On the morning of April 15,2026, a delegation from the China-Indonesia Cultural and Educational Exchange Association (CICEEA) made its first visit to Universitas Indonesia (UI), where they were warmly received by the university administration. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on potential areas of future collaboration, marking a significant step forward for the association in expanding strategic partnerships with Indonesian universities and promoting mutual benefits.

The association delegation was led by President Dr. Hu Haibin, comprising honorary advisor Professor De Gu, administrative coordinator Chen Jiazhen, and interpreter Christina. The Indonesian university delegation was headed by Vice President Professor Mahmud Sudibandriyo, with participation from multiple department heads including the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Director of the International Education Department, Director of Community Engagement and Social Innovation, Director of the Admissions Office, and Director of the International Education Development Division.

At the meeting, the China-Indonesia Cultural and Educational Exchange Association introduced its positioning as a bridge institution for university cooperation, emphasizing its support from the governments of both countries. Currently, it coordinates resources from approximately 100 Chinese universities in China and has established partnerships with around 500 Chinese enterprises operating in Indonesia. The association's core goal is to alleviate the shortage of technical talent in Indonesia's industrial sector through a cooperation model of "government guidance, university collaboration, and enterprise participation."

The University of Indonesia welcomed this initiative and shared its existing collaboration experience with multiple China enterprises, such as the management training program conducted at the School of Engineering. The university expressed its willingness to actively develop curriculum systems for cultivating bilingual talents and professional technical personnel that meet the needs of Chinese investors. Data shows that Indonesian workers proficient in Chinese are more competitive in the job market and earn higher incomes, which aligns closely with the direction of bilateral cooperation.

The two parties also clarified subsequent action steps, including jointly establishing a student employment information portal website, organizing specialized job fairs, and launching professional or executive training courses. The association pledged to continue serving as a bridge and catalyst between education and industry, ensuring that collaborative projects generate tangible social impacts.

According to the arrangement, the association's cooperation proposal will be distributed by the Department of Internationalization of University Education (DIP) of Indonesia to relevant faculties to facilitate in-depth technical collaboration. This meeting has laid a solid foundation for establishing an efficient and sustainable partnership, and will strongly support the achievement of Indonesia's university internationalization strategic objectives.
